The Beauty of Brass or Stainless Steel Fixtures

There are a few different types of finishes that you can get your kitchen or bathroom fixtures in. The three most common are Brass, Stainless Steel or Chrome. The two better looking fixtures are brass and stainless steel. In the bathroom you could have brass shower knobs, brass faucets and faucet knobs and towel racks. In the kitchen you could have brass sinks and sink handles as well as a small dish towel rack. Brass is a classic finish that would look great in any home. The key is to pick brass and stick with brass in the location you are in. Having a uniform look is the best way to decorate.

Brass has a Brushed Brass finish, Polish Brass and Antique Brass. The Brushed Brass is a finish for fixtures that look great in any location of the home. The Polished Brass has glossier look than the brushed brass. The Antique brass is a darker brass that has an antique design to it. It has a yester year feel to the bathroom or kitchen. If you have a bright room for the bathroom, a polished brass would look great and if the room is not very well lit, a brushed brass would look better.

Stainless Steel has really only one look to it. It looks great in the kitchen faucets and sinks. These sinks are rust roof and they do not corrode and the finishing makes it easy to clean. You can have the bar faucets or the pull handle or knobs on the sinks. They are a classic look and will give a little elegance to your kitchen.

Brass would look great in country kitchen settings or a turn knob style faucet but some people like their kitchens a little classy and stainless steel provides that look. Image a bar faucet in brass doesn't work as well as a stainless steel does. But in the same way, a stainless steel bathroom sink handles may look better in brass than stainless steel.

Brass or Stainless Steel is all a matter of preference. But these are two of the most commonly purchased fixtures in the United States. If you are remodeling the kitchen or the bathroom, try to picture each style where you are replacing the fixtures. You can ask you local home improvement store which they recommend, try to bring them pictures of where you are changing the fixture to give them a better idea of where the location is.
