How to Install a Slide Line

The slide is among one of the favorite swimming pool accessories to over 90% of all swimming pool owners.

Once you have had your slide installed and mounted you will then need to plumb in a slide line to the slide.

The slide line will deliver the water to the slide so that when the valve located at the filter system is turned on it feeds and wets the slide so that anyone who uses the slide will have a 100% fun and exciting time.

You will need to follow a few step to step instructions and guides to get the task done, but in the end you will have the result that you want a 100% working slide line.

Things You Will Need

  • Slide line kit

  • 50' to 100' foot roll of flexible pvc or poly pipe

  • Ball Valve and Fittings to connect it

  • Shovel, rake, pick ax and glue and primer

  • Step One:

You want to dig a 18 inch deep trench at least a shovel width wide from the slide line connection to the filter system where the slide line will hook up to the swimming pool plumbing manifold.

Once you have dug a trench like as described above lay your flexible pvc or poly pipe in the whole leaving 24 inches of pipe sticking out of each end of the trench.

    Step Two:

You now want to take the end of the pipe and tie it into the return side of the plumbing on the filter system, and you will want to install a stop or ball valve in addition to just simply connecting or "hard piping" in the slide line.

    Step Three:

Take the last remaining end and connect it to the slide like connection by the footing or bottom step of the slide, the adapter you will be using will be hooking up to the traditional garden hose style fitting or connection.

    Step Four:

At this point you will have both ends tied together using your flexible pvc or polly pipe and you will be ready to pressurize the pipe and let the slide have its water, so go ahead and open your valve that you installed by the filter system and let the slide have its water.

If you see no leaks in your work, then go ahead and backfill you hole that you have dug for the pipe. Also put away all tool and most of all enjoy your new slide!
