Plumbers can be very expensive as everyone may know, not only do they have to come to your home but they have to access your problem and then repair or replace the necessary parts. Your only recourse is to sue the unlicensed plumber and chances are he won't come to court and then you will never see your money.

That is why it is all too important to hire a licensed plumber to begin with. They cost a bit much but if they do cause damage to your home or pipes, then you have better chances of getting them repaired without it costing you a dime. When you hire someone as a plumber and they are a small company ask them if they are licensed and if they say they are, ask for their license number and contact your local Consumer Affairs and see if the license number is valid and is assigned to the company you are calling.

When it comes to your home and your plumbing needs, it is vital that you hire a company who has been doing business for a while and they can provide a valid license and then you have nothing to worry about.
