Installing a New Toilet System

In order to install a new toilet system the first thing required is removing the old toilet. In order to do this you have to turn off the water supply at the stop valve or at the main switch. Flush the toilet in order to drain the tank and remove the extra balance of water with a bucket, rags and sponges. Disconnect the water supply at the tank and remove the bolt caps and nuts used in mounting. Next just lift the toilet and set it aside. In order to stop sewer gas from coming out you have to stuff a rag into the sewer outlet of the toilet. The old was seal gasket from the floor requires cleaning and now you are ready to install the new toilet.

Remove the rag you placed above and screw hold down bolts into the floor. You could also insert new toilet bolts with the head down. Plumber putty should be utilized to hold them together and next place the toilet bowl on the floor upside down on something soft that prevents possible scratching. The wax ring should be placed on the gasket formed from the toilet bowl setting compound. Now just place the bowl with the right side up and gently place it into position with toilet bolts. Press down by using a twisting motion and pay attention that you are not using too much strength. The tank has to be inverted on the floor when removing the parts bag and the lid. The washer needs to be put on the tank outlet and the hard rubber bumper has to be put on the back ledge of the new bowl. Place the tank in the bowl ledge and pay attention at aligning the holes of the ledge with those of the tank bolts. Rubber washers need to be placed on bolts and they need to be inserted now. The metal washer on each bolt has to be positioned and tighten them until you reach a firm mounting of the tank. Now complete the water supply line to the present stop valve. The washer has to be placed next. Plastic tubing now needs to be connected. Install the flush handle by following the instructions you got with the new toilet. It all should be done and you have to test it by turning the water on and waiting for the tank to fill up to the water line that is marked inside it. Pay attention to possible leaks and tighten where needed.
