Adding a Water Filtration System

Next, purchase it and think about where you want to install it. In most cases you have to put it near the main water line that goes into your home.

Now you need to install the whole house water filtration system. The good news is that it comes with instructions so you will just need to follow them to the letter. Every unit comes with a different set of instructions, although all require you to cut the main water line. For this you will be required to turn off your main water supply at the outlet that is coming into your house. Now cut into the water line. Use your pipe fittings to connect the unit to the line. In most cases you will have to deal with quarter of an inch pipe fittings and you might use both plastic and copper although some units will not allow it. Be sure to read the manual in order to find out about this. Wrap the ends of the pipe fittings you just connected with Teflon tape. This is done so that leaks will not appear. Now you have to turn the water on and check for potential leaks.

After the installation is complete and checked you will need to flush the whole house water filtration system. All you have to do to achieve this is to go to the first faucet you notice and just turn on the cold water. Let it run until water is running clear.
