What is a radiator?

A radiator is a type of heat exchanger that is fabricated to move thermal energy from one object to another based on the idea of heating and cooling. The word radiator applies to any of the instruments where a liquid such as water or anti freeze is circulated through open pipes. They can move heat by convection , meaning that source of the heat is not exposed completely.

Radiators and Automobiles

Cars with an internal combustion engine is a radiator which is connected to the engine and the cylinder head. The fluid will travel in a closed system , it starts in the radiator and travels to the engine. It then removes the heat away from the engine?s components. This prevents your car from overheating. The radiator is located behind the cars ? grill and the outside air is directed through the radiator with the help of a fan.

Bleeding the Radiator

No matter where the radiator is located, whether a car or an apartment building, the radiators need to be bled. Bleeding the radiator means letting the air out if you are talking about an apartment building or having the liquid flushed out from a car. There is a bleed screw on all radiators, with a car before you open it , if all possible get a bucket or tray to catch the anti freeze because it is harmful to children and animals.
